Dog toys come in all shapes, sizes, quality, and cost. When your Boston Terrier is bored, or the weather does not permit exercise outdoors for long, try these indoor toys.

Over years of owning Boston Terriers, we have bought and tried more toys than we can count. Their favorite toys have lasted a long time and provided fun and exercise, even while in the house.

What makes a good indoor toy for Boston Terriers?

When playing indoors, you want to find the right toys for your Boston Terrier.

It is good to have toys that provide exercise for your Bostons. Some Bostons like to play tug of war. Others love to play fetch or chase anything you toss. Even indoors you can satisfy them.

Boston Terriers also need mental stimulation. Treat dispensers, and puzzle toys are great additions.

Let’s look at the toys we’ve personally purchased and our Bostons have enjoyed for more than 15 minutes.

1. ChuckIt! Ultra Ball (Small)

""

Ryder loves these balls. These are not just for the outdoors. He has a good half dozen of these around the house and loves to play fetch indoors.

These are great for a rainy day and still need to get your exercise time in. A light toss will send your Boston running after it, even under tables and chairs. On carpet, a light underhanded toss may find your Boston jumping into the air and catching this orange and blue ball.

The ChuckIt! Ultra Ball is tough and has lasted years. We did have to throw one out after about three years when one of the blue stripes started to pull away from the central orange part.

2. ChuckIt! Glow Ball (Medium)

""

Wait! Another ball?!?!?

Yes! The reason is that the texture of this ball is different than the Ultra Ball. It is smoother and therefore a little bit slippery.

One of our Bostons will seek this specific ball out when he wants to squish it in his mouth, have it shoot out with him running to catch up. That’s why we have the medium size ball, as he cannot easily fully wrap his mouth around it. Thus the, squish, shoot, zoom!

3. Benebone Real Bacon Durable Wishbone

""

Is your Boston Terrier an aggressive chewer? Get them something they can chew on besides your shoes.

The Benebone Durable Wishbone comes in three flavors, chicken, beef, and peanut.

Since the wishbone is curved, it is always easy for our Bostons to grab it and run for the hills. It also makes the wishbone fun to toss across the room and play fetch or tug of war.

The construction of this toy bone is durable and will last a long time.

3. ZippyPaws – Skinny Peltz No Stuffing Squeaky Plush Dog Toy

""

You won’t find regular plushies on our list of best toys for Boston Terriers. In our house, plush toys last less than 15 minutes before the squeaker and stuffing are all over the floor.

There is one exception. These stuffing-free soft toys are fun and can provide active play for your Boston.

Note: We do not leave these out for the dogs to self-select and use unsupervised, just in case they tear pieces of the fabric. I don’t want them to ingest it.
